MacCountdownCalendar implements a Countdown Calendar on the Mac (makes sense, doesn't it?) It's perfect for counting down the days until your favorite event (graduation, anniversary, birtthday, etc).
You set the "termination date" (the date you're counting down to) and the event (what you're counting down to). You can also specify special dates, and a text message to be displayed on those dates.
You can click in the page flipper in the lower left corner of the main calendar window to advance forward and backwards through the dates.
A second window displays the number of years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the event.
All the information you enter is stored in a file which must be called DATES. This file must reside in the same folder as the MacCountdownCalendar application.
Format of the DATES file:
The first line should contain the "termination date" in the form mm/dd/yy. As as example, June 27, 1995 would be written as:
06/27/95
The second line is the name of the "termination event".
The third line should contain the phrase similar to "Day's until <event>" where <event> is the name of the "termination event" from the second line.
The additional lines are messages that can be displayed on particular dates. Each line has the format of a date in the form mm/dd/yy folowed by a space and then the message.
For example, to display the message "Parades and Fireworks today" on July 4, 1995, the line would be:
07/04/95 Parades and Fireworks today
